Blair Cohn
Born and raised in Long Beach and lived in a great neighborhood on the east side that allowed him to walk to Cubberly, Marshall and Millikan. Cohn spent countless days running around in El Dorado park and played soccer for years in Heartwell Park. After high school Cohn went to USC and got his business degree in marketing. His event planning experience began when he started to book shows for local bands out of his dorm room. Cohn worked for a number of event planning companies and was involved in organizing events of all kinds including fundraisers, sport expos, and corporate events. Cohn also worked for 6 years organizing national educational seminars and conferences for school teachers.
In 2001, he helped to form International City Racing that organizes the annual Long Beach International City Bank Marathon. In 2005 Cohn helped establish the Run for Her 5K Ovarian Cancer Awareness event with the Women’s Cancer Research Institute/Cedars Sinai Hospital. Cohn was fortunate to work for the City of Long Beach which gave him a good perspective of city policy and procedures. Cohn has been a part of committee for the University by the Sea event that connects CSULB to downtown with a series of classes and an art, music, and film festival. The group opened the historic Jergins Tunnel at the 2007 event. Cohn is currently the Executive Director of the Bixby Knolls Business Improvement Association and has created a number of new programs to help activate both the business and residential communities in Bixby Knolls.
